What a way to finish the season! The Western Boone 8th grade volleyball team wrapped up an incredible year by winning the MAC Tournament on Saturday, going 18-0 to finish the season undefeated! The Stars opened the day with a strong win over North Montgomery, taking the match 25-7 and 25-20. Ady got things started with a 6-point serving run, setting the tone early, and Molly followed with a huge 10-point run to help close out the first set. Next up was Crawfordsville, where the girls kept the energy high and came out on top 25-7 and 25-9. Harper led the first set with a 7-point serving streak, and Ella followed with an 8-point run in the second to seal the win. In the championship match against Frankfort, the Stars stayed focused and finished the job with wins of 25-18 and 25-15. Molly had a 4-point run in the first set, and Ady took over in the second with a 9-point run to help the team close it out. Ady led the way for the day with 18 aces and 20 kills, earning Player of the Tournament along with Cora, who added 6 aces and kept the offense running with some great digs off tough hits. Molly added 13 aces and 8 kills, Blaize had 8 kills, Kaity added 5, and Zoie finished with 7 kills and 3 aces. Ella ran the offense with 34 assists, plus 4 aces and 3 kills, while Harper chipped in 4 aces. It was the perfect ending to an amazing season. The 8th grade Stars went undefeated and brought home the MAC Championship!
