Stars Earn 3 All-Conference Selections

The Stars participated in the inaugural MAC Conference Tournament Saturday and Monday to determine the 2025 1st team all-conference selections. All 7 varsity members participated in the tournament, with 3 earning first-team all-conference honors. Jacob Collins went 1-1 in the tournament and Logan Cripe ended the day 0-2. The 2D tandem of Burke Cavins and Zac Weesies had a great day, going 2-1. The Stars got revenge for an earlier defeat against North Montgomery’s 2D, then beat the #3 seed Crawfordsville 1D. They eventually lost to Greencastle’s 1D in the semi-finals. The 1D duo of Owen Oakley and Easton Nance started their day by defeating Crawfordsville’s 2D and then advanced to the finals by beating an undefeated Frankfort 1D. In the singles pool, Jon Rutherford won 3 matches over Frankfort’s 3S, Crawfordsville’s 2S, and Greencastle’s 1S. The Stars finished the day with 3 all-conference members. Oakley, Nance, and Rutherford earned 1st team all-conference with their efforts over the weekend! The trio will forever be part of the first MAC All-Conference Team. Oakley and Nance Win 1st MAC Doubles Title Owen Oakley and Easton Nance remain undefeated on the year (20-0) with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Liam Grimes and Cayden Scott from Greencastle. The two teams met one week ago and finished with the same result. Oakley and Nance go down in history, earning the first-ever MAC Doubles title. In the singles final, Jon Rutherford drops a straight set match to Rowan Gambrel of Crawfordsville by a score of 3-6, 3-6.
