The 7th Grade Stars travelled to Crawfordsville for a MAC showdown with the Athenians. The Stars Offense lead behind the O-line of Levi Nelson, Easton Banks, Elijah Pastore, Corbin Eckert, Spencer Worrell, and Wyatt Redman ran out to a 6-0 lead after 3 plays thanks to a long kickoff return by Carter Crahan. Crahan would score the first TD for the Stars on a sweep and Gage Miller ran right up the middle for the 2nd score (Bryson Potter 2 pt conversion). Just before half Potter connected on a 10 yard slant to TJ McKinney to set up a Potter to Crahan 50 yard Touchdown pass (Cannon Dunk 2 point conversion) to give the Stars a 22-0 lead at the half. The second half started much like the first as the Stars held the Athenians to a 3 and out, got the ball back and Dunk scored in the 3rd Quarter to give the Stars a running clock and their final score of 28-0. The Stars D lead up front by Nate Muir, Pastore, Brayden Newman, TJ McKnight, Zane Rearden, Eckert, Miller, Worrell, Redman and the secondary of Gunner Shirley, Ty Williamson, McKinney, Dunk, and Blake Stokes took away any Athenian Threat. 8th Grade Football The Western Boone 8th grade football team travelled to Crawfordsville on Tuesday night to continue conference play against the hosting Athenians. Setting a goal to score on special teams, the Stars would do just that, as Jackson Potter returned the opening kickoff for a touchdown, his first of four scores on the night. The Stars would roll from there, on their way to a 42-6 victory. Potter would add a receiving touchdown, rushing touchdown and return yet another kickoff for a touchdown in the second half. The offensive line of Connor Palmer, Drake Wagner, Brannon Gadbury, Caleb Douglas, Lukas Harrison and Tate Fields would control the line of scrimmage allowing the Stars to execute a balanced attack of running and passing. Ryder Devol would add two more touchdown passes to his season totals, one to Crew Gallimore and the other to Jackson Potter. In addition to Potter's rushing touchdown, Connor Palmer would add another in the second half, the lone offensive play of the second half for the Stars due to a running clock. Lukas Harrison, Corey Boggs and Blake Warmoth would all add conversions to complete the scoring. Defensively, the Stars once again kept their opponent behind the chains most of the night, securing several tackles for loss and producing an interception by Crew Gallimore. In addition to the Stars mentioned on offense who contribute both ways, Jude Anderson, Cody Bolen and Kamden Talbert all gave solid performances in their defensive efforts. The Stars host new MAC conference opponent the Greencastle Tiger Cubs on Tuesday (9/9/2025) and kickoff is set at 5:30 pm.
