Swimmers celebrate Senior Night with Two Wins

The High School Swim team hosted Southmont Thursday evening for the Stars' senior night. The seniors were able to choose their events for the evening, making the competitions fun and exciting. The girls kicked off the evening with 1st place in the Medley Relay with the team of Jaili Torp, Eisley Whitely, Joan Gearheart, and Kate Higer. In the 200 Free the girls took 1st (Evie Maurath) and 2nd (Joan Gearheart), and in the 200 IM Claire Torp placed 2nd. Kate Foy had a best score of 132.06 in Diving, and in the 100 Fly Eisley Whitely placed 1st and Jaili Torp took 3rd with a new PR (1:28.06). Lindsey Steimel placed 1st in the 100 Free, and in the 500 Free Rylee Pelley placed 1st with a new PR (6:29.53) and Rachel Rustin placed 2nd. The girls took 1st place in both the 200 Free Relay and 400 Free Relay. In the 100 Backstroke the girls placed 1st (Rebecca Rustin), 2nd (Lindsey Steimel), and 3rd (Ellie Whitely), and Eisley Whitely won the 100 Breaststroke. The Lady Stars swam to a victory over Southmont with a final score of 120-50. The boys team started their evening strong in the 200 Medley Relay, taking 1st with the team of Jude Balke, Isaac Threlkeld, Zach Connors, and Jacob Norman. Jude Balke took 1st in the 200 IM, and in the 50 Free Brayden Schick placed 1st and Eli Bishop placed 2nd with a new PR (27.30). Blaine Ballentine placed 1st in diving, and Gage Bolen had a new best score. The boys took 1st (Isaac Threlkeld) and 2nd (Henry Biggs) in the 100 Fly, and they swam for 1st (Jacob Norman), 2nd (Zach Connors), and 3rd (Brayden Schick) in the 100 Free. Liam Whitely placed 2nd in the 500 Free with a new best time of 5:58.20, and in the 100 Backstroke Alex Crockett placed 1st and Jude Balke placed 2nd. The boys also took 1st (Alex Crockett), 2nd (Isaac Threlkeld), and 3rd (Gage Bolen) in the 100 Breaststroke. The team of Liam Whitely, Isaac Threlkeld, Alex Crockett, and Zach Connors swam for 1st in the 200 Free Relay. The boys team dominated the pool and defeated Southmont with a final score of 117-62. The Stars will compete again next Tuesday evening at Clinton Central.
