The Western Boone wrestling team closed out the regular season Thursday night with a road dual at Lebanon, facing the Tigers in a competitive matchup that featured several bonus-point wins and late momentum swings. Lebanon came away with the team victory, 38–23, in the final tune-up before postseason action. Western Boone picked up key wins throughout the lineup, highlighted by strong performances in the middle and upper weights. Isaiah Garland opened the night with a solid 9–5 decision at 138 pounds, setting the tone early. Broden Wilson added a technical fall at 165, controlling the match and earning important team points for the Stars. One of the biggest moments of the night came at 190 pounds, where Jacob Smith needed less than a minute to secure a pin, sticking his opponent in just 47 seconds. Tyson Riner followed later in the dual with another pin at 126 pounds, finishing his match in 2:41. Colton Mitchell also delivered a key win at 132 pounds, earning a 9–6 decision to keep Western Boone within striking distance late in the meet. Lebanon countered with bonus-point victories of its own, including pins at 175 and 285 pounds and technical falls at 144 and 157, helping the Tigers build separation on the scoreboard as the dual progressed. The meet marked the final regular-season competition for Western Boone, which now turns its focus to the postseason. The Stars will compete next in the sectional round of the IHSAA State Tournament, hosted by Crawfordsville High School on Saturday, January 31, 2026. Wrestling is scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m.
