In the A game, the Stars walked away with a 7-1 victory over the Mounties. After receiving stitches in her knee after the Crawfordsville game last night from a rough slide at third, Raina Lutz came through in the circle and at the plate in dominant fashion. In the circle, Raina picked up her 5th win of the season facing just 23 batters with 14 strikeouts, giving up just two hits and one earned run. She also helped her team offensively going 3 for 3 at the plate with 2 RBI’s, and 2 runs scored. Other big contributors offensively were Harper Nance and Mady Monks who went 2 for 3 on the day with a combined 4 RBI’s between them coming up with big hits with runners in scoring positions. Ashlynn Foster, Kensley Blankenship, and Lexi Gregg also contributed to the offensive success with a hit each helping the Stars come out with another victory on the season. In the second game, the Stars won 9-5 with a come back victory in the bottom of the third inning. Kensley Blankenship pitched well down the stretch getting big oust when needed shutting off any rally from the Mounties offensively. The team was led in hits by Riley Gunn going 2 for 3, followed by Jerzie Nelson, Lexi Mitchell, Abby Detty, and Shawna Hitch with a hit each. The Jr. High Softball Team is back on the field at home Monday, 5/6/24, Vs. Sheridan with the first game starting at 5:30pm.
